A different kind of list-making

Standard

“Nothing shows you the straight line from here to death like a list.”                                                                  -Chuck Palahniuk in his book Survivor

Usually I jot down a list of things to do on a post-it note or scrap of paper. If I’m being creative, I draw a little circle in front so I can color it in or check each item off. In an ideal world, that means I’d do everything on the list with a high rate of efficiency.

I am not consistently an efficient person. I work in highly efficient spurts separated by less intense periods of low to moderate productivity.

Today I tried something different. Instead of a “To Do” list, I wrote out a “Ta Da” list. I wrote down the stuff I’d done. As in… ta da! Be impressed at my amazing feats of productivity. Turns out ta da is more fun than to do.
